Pair 19thc. Porcelannous Staffordshire Dogs - Pair Samuel Alcock Wolf Dogs each with cropped ears, thick fur and ferocious expressions, seated on a high rock mound base, yellow in one case and green in the other. 4" high. impressed 253. c. 1840

He quotes in his book that these would definitely have been made as a pair and not put together at a later date.

Condition: Tiny chip on base repaired on Yellow base. ears restored on green based dog. . glazing hairline in glaze to base of green dog approx. 1" long. See photo.
