Very rare 19thc. Staffordshire Portrait/Theatrical figure of Mlle Alboni as Cinderella.  The source of this figure is probably the'Musical Bouquet' illustration which is in turn derived from the coloured lithograph by John Brandard.  The Brandard original does not represent Rossini's La Cenerentola (an opera based on the story of Cinderella) although the 'Musical Boquet' picture was used to illustrate the finale - Now from fear no more I tremble - sung by Mlle Alboni when the opera was played at Covent Garden in 1848.  Whilst this figure is not therefore, strictly speaking, a portrait of MlleAlboni, it may well have been intended as such.  Note that the wheel-design in the Brandard lithograph is identical to that of the figure.
