Rare 19thc. Staffordshire Military figure titled Gnl. Codrington. Sir William Codrington showed great courage at Alma and Inkerman whilst in command of the Light Division. In November 1855, he succeeded Simpson as commander-in-chief of the British troops in the Crimea. Fought at Sebastabol. Member of parliament for Greenwich 1857 and Governor of Gibralter.

Condition: Very good moulding, I can only see a tiny bit of repair to the end of the gun in his left hand., tiny glazing floor on the bottom (see photograph) Excellent moulding and paintwork
