19thc. Staffordshire Circus/Theatrical figure of Mlle Elle and 2 Female Dancers. Mlle Elle was born in Louisana of French parents first appeared at Drury Lane 1853.  While riding a horse at full gallop she would leap over the Stars and Stripes nine feet wide.  Despite her shapely legs and tiny feet it became known that she was in fact a husband and father!!! He had for years dressed weith actresses in their rooms and been on terms of the greatest intimacy with the ladies!!
