19thc. Porcellanous Staffordshire by Samuel Alcock. Saluki or Persian Greyhound with Grey markings seated on yellow rocky mound base 3.5" high. Impressed '311' c.1840.  This model is impressed with the same number as that appearing under the begging poodle in Colour Plate 67. As 2 different models could not carry the same number, the factory clearly made a mistake, but in the absence of further examples it is impossible to say which model is correctly numbered.
