Superb 19thc. Staffordshire figure of Uncle Tom & Eva by Thomas Parr pottery, Poem below reads:-

Eva to Uncle Tom, what funny things you are making there! Tom:"I'm trying to write to my poor old woman, Miss Eva and my little children but, somehow I'm feared I shan't make it out"

Uncle Tom's Cabin first published in 1852 by Mrs Beecher Stow, 9 years before the American Civil War.

Condition: Very good, slight rubbing.
